Porsche 911 story

If you can’t get a 911 for Christmas, then get the story!

If you can’t get a 911 for Christmas, then get the story!

‘Tis not the season to be jolly. Just as Sean Bean kept reminding us before he lost his head, Winter IS coming. So it’s time to put the old girl in the garage and wait for Spring.

But in the meantime, why not cozy up with what’s arguably the best and most comprehensive book about the Porsche 911 in the known universe. I am of course talking about the 9th, revised and expanded version of Paul Frère’s Porsche 911 Story: The Entire Development Story.

It’s a mammoth undertaking of 552 pages stuffed with great insights by former Formula One driver, Le Mans winner and motor journalist Paul Frère. At over $180 it may not be the cheapest book you’ve ever bought. But look at it this way: You will come back to it again and again. And that much knowledge crammed in at 30 cents a page is nothing short of a bargain.

There are a lot of versions out there, and you may be able to get your hands on a recent, used copy.
